Victories from the Front

Victories from the Front are real-life stories of men who have become warriors.  Men who fought the fight and experienced victory.

Bob

Bob belongs to a small group of guys.  Probably not much different than the small group of guys you might belong to.  The great thing about these guys is that they have learned how to fight for each other's heart.

One night Bob came to his small group after a difficult day at work.  Because of some decisions that Bob made - and owned up to - it could possibly cost his company a lot of money.  Bob was defeated.  He was depressed.  He was fearful.  He regretted his decision and its affect on everyone involved.  Most of all Bob was hurting.

But, because Bob had a group of guys who were willing to come around him and "get his back" Bob left that group encouraged and empowered.  Those men came around Bob.  They shared Scripture with him.  They empathized with him.  They reminded Bob that he was a victor, not a victim.  The challenged him not to let Satan get the glory, but to stand tall as a warrior in the army of God.  They prayed over him.

At the end of the night Bob shared with the group how he could feel the literal power of God flow over him as they prayed and encouraged him.

Bob walked away from that group a different man.  He had tasted sweet victory!  Why?  Because some guys saw a man who was hurting and decided to fight for him when he couldn't fight for himself.  That's part of being the man God designed and desires us to be.

I'm not sure what Bob, or any other man for that matter, would have done in that situation had he not had a band of brothers - some warriors - who had his back, especially when he was too tired and beat down to fight for himself.

Do you have a group of guys who will fight for you - even when you can't?  If you don't, take some time to ask God to begin putting men in your life to encourage you, pray for you, challenge you, and, most of all, fight for you!
